Presidents: Your hero?

So, I'm sitting here reading these pamphlets that I got from a newly found friend, who completely has the opposite views of myself. And I'm reading, reading... and the light clicks on. And I laugh. This that I'm reading is so true. Its so true that its hilarious!
We are headed for a depression. And part of it is put on George W. Bush's fault. But people need someone to blame, so they put it on the President. And now, everyone is so caught up in the election. And by golly, they should be! I encourage everyone who can to vote and use your right, and your privilege. But everybody is also thinking that just getting him out of the White House is going to change everything, the direction we are headed in, our debt will be paid, and we won't have insane taxes anymore. In the words of Gene Healy "if we want to restore the constitutional presidency, it's going to take a whole lot more than just replacing George W. Bush." Did you ever think about that? I myself think that Obama will make changes, but I know it won't happen suddenly, and it won't change some of the things that can't be undone.
Gene Healy also says, and this part is hilarious, people think that the President can solve they're daily problems. And I quote " If we need heroes in out lives, we shouldn't go looking for them among professional politics."
So the next time you think about the new president and all the good stuff he will do for us, remember. The President isn't the guy walking on the street, or the on who you walk by everyday that gives you a polite smile and makes your day. He is the guy who is the face of the American public. I myself have found myself thinking that the new President would somehow make life better. And to an extent he does. But when people take it too far, and think that the President will make all the wrongs right, and make all the rights better, thats when things get obsessive. Sleep on it.

DRAMA:Everybody's Anti.....

Drama.... Everybody's Anti Boyfriend, friend, social life, happiness and everything else anyone can think of that makes people enjoy life. If drama was an alcoholic drink, everybody would be out of their minds drunk all day long... Business... Drama and business goes hand in hand. If someone is starting drama, then chances are they are not minding their own business. If someone is not starting drama, chances are they are busy... which is a form of business. Weird how that works out, eh?
The worst kind of drama is the drama that makes you sick to your stomach. The kind that you know you'll probably get through, but hurts like heck until its done. That is the kind of drama that make me have ulcers. Its the kind of drama that makes me want to hit everybody in the head with something heavy, until they just forget it and don't care. This most of the time is caused by people who are not busy, or who are not involved in things, or who don't have enough drama in they're lives so they want to start it in some else's, for pure enjoyment of course.... Oh if only I could tear into those kind of people.
If only I could leave this tiny little town where drama is the only thing that happens that anyone cares about. If only I could be in a place where nobody cares what street I walk on, or what I say, or who talks to me. If only I could be in a place where I was taken seriously enough that I could follow my dreams and no one told me that I can't do that because I come from such a small town and things like that just don't happen. If only I didn't have to rest my head at night on a pillow of thought that won't let me go to sleep. If only I could think and walk and talk and scream and not worry about what people are going to say about it... Yeah, thats the place for me.
So when people go to bed at night, the kind of people who thrive off of drama, I hope they rest their head on a pillow of sickening thoughts that tell them that they can't sleep, or walk or talk or scream or anything that lets them be free... Yeah... Sleep on that.

Expected.

High school... I remember when I was in Junior High and elementary.. And I could not wait to get into high school. Everyone of my friends talked about how cool it was going to be when we got into high school. When we got into high school...
Well, I will just come out and say it. It's different than I expected it to be. Everything is. I mean.. I'm a sophomore and I still haven't got it under control. My freshman year was terrible. I thought I wouldn't live through it. I didn't have any of my priorities straight, and everything had to be the most difficult thing I've ever done. Now.. I'm a sophomore. And not everything is hard.. You learn to roll with the punches. And in high school, there is a ton of them.
Parents don't think it should be that hard for us. But when they were in high school they didn't have half the extracurricular activities that we do. And since I live in a small town, with a small high school, everyone is expected to do everything, or else none of it would work. And if your parents are anything like mine were, they think they know how hard it is. They think we should be able to balance it out and still have extra time to catch up on sleep, or be able to think about what college we want to go to, or to know whats going on in the world. If I didn't have a history teacher like Mr. Peterson, or a boyfriend that thrives off whats going on in the world, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't know who was running for president.
Also.. Everyone wonders why there is so much sickness in high schools, and why it passes around like a hot potato. I'll give you the answer... Take a person right, normal high school student:

High school student - sleep time for: practice for 4 extracurricular activities, meetings, homework in every subject, games, games and more games + STRESS + pressure to do every thing they can possibly get into + pressure to be the best in everything they get into + pressure to have straight A's = .... well you get the point.

Our high school life is killing us. And how do we stop it?... We don't. We just go with it. Because we are expected to. Because we are expected to. Because you expect us to. Thanks. Try and sleep on that one.

Jeezo!

So!... I have had an insane month, and its just getting more busy! First, last week we did editing for my journalism class... I love journalism, and I don't mind helping the first years with editing. But editing is sooooooooooooooooooooo stressful. My fellow editors would agree with me also, because I can see it when they look at me, they are thinking the same thing I am: Get me out of here!
I am also a volleyball player.. Yeah, I know what you're thinking, big deal right? I'm not even starting varsity. I'm a sophomore, what can I say? But when your on JV and your on the bench in varsity, its crazier than you might think! This week, I have a JV tournament Monday, a varsity triangular Tuesday, something Thursday... two games Friday, and a varsity tournament Saturday! Busy!
Can't a girl get a break? Nah.. People seriously under estimate high school kids. Next time you think your busy, think about your high school kids.... Sleep on it.

If they can do it, I can do it to!

You want to know something funny? I found someone who blogs just about like a do! It's not about the teenage life. But it is about just the most random things you could imagine! Sort of like my blogs. I think its funny.
The blog is very sarcastic, thus the basis of its appeal. Which makes me think, do people think I'm mean if they don't understand sarcasm? Hmm... I wonder... Anyways, the humor in this blog just reminds me of somethings I would say. Some of the things aren't extremely school appropriate, but thats why he writes and I don't! He obviously isn't a teenage writer, but he has my humor. Need I say more?... Sleep on it.

Homework- Power Trip for Teachers?

Hey there! So school started! What a drag huh? But so far, in my teen life, even with only two weeks of the 08-09 school year under my belt, I've already ran into some different things to do than homework!
Now, before you go thinking that I'm just an irresponsible teenager, I want you to know, that I haven't turned in a late assignment yet!
Things to do besides homework:
a.) Get on Facebook.
b.) Text as much as possible.
c.) Tell your mom your going to work on homework with a friend, and actually just drive around with your buds.
d.) Watch YouTube.
e.) Talk on the phone.
f.) Hang out with your significant other.
g.) We all know that high schoolers are sleep deprived, so of course, my favorite: Sleep.

Everyone knows homework is over rated! Every good student gets assignments in on time, and I'm not saying "don't do your homework." I do my homework, but sometimes I do cram my time, because I find something better to do, like all of the above. :)
So I say, fellow teens, homework is important, but only if you put the effort into doing it, if your not going to put the effort into doing it, why not do something else?... Sleep on it.

My Life As A Teenage... ?

So! My first blog, oh what to say! To start off, I'm very excited to be writing about my topic! I think it will be a very open topic, so that I can write about pretty much everything! When I heard about our blogging projects, I had no idea what to write about. And then it hit me! Of course! Why not write about something that I'm a master of in my prime years!
I look at this project not as just a project but for sure to get some new outlooks on different types of writing, and a outlet for my A.D.D. smothered mind. (haha) It will be an extremely sweet experience to see what everyone else has to say also. Just as a fair warning, I'm very sarcastic in my writing, as my teacher and classmates know.
My topic though will allow me to write anything from homework to music to what I think is an 'in' style (you may not want to take that sort of advice from me, being the extremely stylish type that I am) (That was a joke) and finishing off with boys and friends. I'm excited and I look forward to messing around with this project and getting some sweet experience!
